Our expectations to suppliers

We expect business partners to comply to the standards we live by ourselves.

As a condition of doing business with Nera Networks, suppliers must conform to our expectations and endeavor to have their sources in the supply chain do so as well. Nera Networks assess conformance to these expectations and will consider all supplier's progress in meeting these expectations and their ongoing performance in making sourcing decisions.

Nera Networks expects business partners to comply to the standards we live by ourselves.

Compliance
Our suppliers will maintain compliance systems and be able to demonstrate a satisfactory record of compliance with law in the conduct of its business, having policies in the following areas:

  • Anti-corruption
  • Unfair business practices
  • Anti-discrimination
  • Humane treatment of workers; working hours and wages
  • Safety and health
  • Environmental sustainability

Anti-Corruption
Our suppliers must conduct their business without engaging in corrupt practices, including public or private bribery or kickbacks. Suppliers will maintain integrity, transparency and accuracy in corporate record keeping.

No Unfair Business Practices
Our suppliers must act with integrity and lawfully in the proper handling of competitive data, proprietary information and other intellectual property; and comply with legal requirements regarding fair competition and antitrust, and accurate and truthful marketing.

Anti-Discrimination
Our suppliers must employ workers on the basis of their ability to do the job, not on the basis of their personal characteristics or beliefs.

No Forced Labour
Our suppliers must not use forced, prison or indentured labour, including debt bondage. If a Supplier recruits foreign contract workers, the Supplier will pay agency recruitment commissions and not require any worker to remain in employment for any period of time against his or her will.

No Child Labour
Our suppliers must ensure that their hiring practices are in conformance with International conventions for minimum age and child labor.

Freedom of Association
Our suppliers must allow their workers the right to join, or to refrain from joining, associations of their own choosing, unless otherwise prohibited by law.

Fair Working Hours and Wages
While it is understood that overtime is often required, our suppliers must manage operations in ways that overtime does not exceed levels that create inhumane working conditions. Workers are to be paid at least the minimum legal wage and, where no wage law exists, the local industry standard.

Safe and Healthy Working Conditions
Our suppliers will operate a safe and healthy work environment. Suppliers that provide housing or eating facilities and will operate and maintain them in a safe, sanitary and dignified manner.

Environmental Sustainability
Suppliers of goods must have an Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 or equivalent. Nera Networks encourages our suppliers to provide us with environmentally preferred products. Specifically, we suppliers them to create products that are energy efficient, highly recyclable and contain significant amounts of recycled materials and low amounts of hazardous materials.

It is Nera Networks’ policy to eliminate any components from our products that contain, or that are manufactured with, a process that uses any Class I ozone-depleting substance.
