Nera Networks wins contract with major South American operator
Evolution Series™
Nera Networks has signed a contract with a major operator in South America with an estimated value of NOK 150 million. The contract is for delivery of Evolution Series™ microwave radios and services for 721 hops, of which 505 are new and 216 are upgrades.
"This contract is yet again proof of the flexibility and versatility the Evolution Series platform can offer," says Nera Networks CEO Per Arne Henæs.
"The customer will make use of the full range of configurations available in the Evolution Series, which is available in the EDGE, METRO, XPAND and LONG HAUL configurations."
The key objective for the project is to increase network transmission capacity and migrate existing circuits into Ethernet/IP.
Nera Networks will also deliver antennas and installation material. Services include commissioning, installation and engineering services.
Delivery is expected in the first half of 2010.
